Great service, just a question mark on the design of the teapot

The teapot was beautifully packaged and arrived promptly. I chose the item and I could see there was a hinged lid so there is no criticism to the vendor here. To me, there is a design fault in that the lid does not stay propped open, so I have to hold it open with one hand while putting in tea and boiling water with the other. Too close for comfort. People who design teapots - do they actually make tea?
